Say goodbye to sweats and hello to comfortable housedresses.
"Clothes have symbolic meaning, and getting dressed up—real shoes included—is one way to help your brain feel some semblance of normalcy.
"Through the peaks and valleys of 2020, which included weeks of loungewear and "real clothes." Dresses have the same transformative power. Throw on a dress after a weeklong sweats and pajamas spell, and feel less melancholy and more mentally prepared for each day—more productive even."

Not surprising the fashion industry would start a new trend as soon as we could see the other side of Covid-19.

I love dresses and skirts. That all I wear in the spring and summer. I also were them occasionally in fall and winter too when I get sick of pants.

Oh my gosh, NO. They are horrible.
The house dresses in the 50's looked better than the ones posted. They look like they were made from old bed sheets.
The sweats are better, though for me, I'm sticking with my jeans.

No thanks!!! I would sooner wear sweats and be comfortable!

I am not a fan of these house dresses... looks like we are going back to the 1900’s ... I think I’ll stick with my sweats for now 😉

Not for me! If I'm going to spend a lot of time at home I want to be comfortable. Sweats and much more comfortable than a dress to me...I don't care for the feeling of my upper thighs rubbing together.
Housedresses (or dusters) were common in the fifties and early sixties. My mother wore them around the house back then and I can remember them having large pockets too...I don't want to look like a fifties housewife!

the downside of house dress wearing at home is it requires either regular shaving or waxing of the legs

Another trend which may have few takers. Very different times from the 1950's when styles were dictated and followed.
The photos seem to relegate women to housemaids.
Appropriateness: April Fool or Halloween !
