@mspatmac wrote:Way to go Helen! She looks like she wanted to change things up and have some fun with her look. Other pictures show her having fun on the red carpet. Beautiful and talented woman who doesn't
deserve these comments just because you don't like her look. Women should support each other.
Puh-LEEEZZZZZE....she chose this get-up precisely to get comments -- she's craving, begging, pleading for attention, and she succeeded. Nobody's obliged to indulge her narcissism with raves.

She is a beautiful woman but I don't like this look for her. Looks a little washed out with the white hair and silver dress. Would of gone with a flowly dress in a flattering pretty color and glam her her up a bit more.

I wonder how much control she has over what to wear and makeup. I'm watching a show on Netflix called "Call My Agent" and the episode I just saw starred Juliette Binoche and it takes place at Cannes. Part of it involves Juliette stating what she wants to wear and the feedback she gets from the Cannes official and clothing designers. She ends up looking somewhat like Bork in the swan costume at the Oscars. Not at all what she had in mind.

@Katcat1 @mspatmac @San Antonio Gal + all
My favorite awards ceremony fashion is when an actor does a simple high-low, taking a fabulous something and paring it with an off-the-rack ordinary something.
Sharon Stone did it at the 1996 Oscars, wearing a simple Gap t-shirt,
then later at the Oscars with a simple white cotton shirt.

I read on line that those are extensions (no kidding). Not a good look. JMO

She looks like an "older" Gwen Stefani.
She does have a rockin body.

The first image is from 2019, followed by 2022...both from respective Cannes film festivals.
(Additional,photo shows Helen with Harrison Ford as they have both just been cast in Yellowstone's newest prequel on Paramount plus)
IMO, Helen Mirren looks much better in the 2019 photo. Still with an edgy choice for hair, but one that flatters. What I very much appreciate with Ms.Mirren is that she appears to be be aging outside of the Hollywood norm of n** and tuck. She and Andie McDowell look great now and in 2019....just not loving Helen's hair and makeup for this year's film festival.
....and at age 62, I get the hair and makeup issue, I still color my hair by choice and I have always only worn minimal makeup, but feel I still need something to enhance as my eyes are "disappearing".
