Have you ever purchased bra extenders?

Since I have gained so much weight from 88 pounds three years ago to now 150 my bras are too small around my chest so I was so happy to find bra extenders and they make such a difference.  I got a packet of one each in black, white and nude.  So happy I did not have to go out and buy new bras.

No, It's always been my understanding that the band size dictates the proper cup size.  I had a friend who worked in the lingere dept at a major store and she told me about it.

If you added an extender the cup isn't fitting properly.

I am a 40/42B but I can wear a 38B with the extender. the larger the bra gets the larger the cups get.

I am broad in my back but not in the cup

I've used bra extenders for years.  I'm slim and just fill an A cup, but I have a large rib cage.  If I were to go up to the next band size, the cups are larger too.  Bra extenders solve my problem.

Re: Have you ever purchased bra extenders?

I have to agree,  I decided to be professionally fitted for a bra.  I walked in wearing a 38A which I've worn for 40 years and walked out wearing a 36C.  I now no longer rip my bra off the minute I walk in the door which I've done my entire life, now my bra fits properly, I look better in my clothes and my bras are 100% more comfortable!

I have heard numerous times over my 50+ years that over 80% of women wear the wrong size bra!  I highly recommend you get fitted regardless of your weight at the time.  You can go to Nordstrom and they have trained, professional ladies that will fit you, it's free and they don't pressure you to buy anything.  If you don't have a Nordstrom near you any upscale department store that has a lingerie department should have trained professionals to fit you.  I can't imagine you regretting it!

I used them in the past and they worked well.

Re: Have you ever purchased bra extenders?

 Clarification,

   I was agreeing with ECBG.

As I said above I originally wore an A cup, but when I could find them I bought the size called "barely A" as I thought I was so small (I still think I'm small).  When the lady fitting me brought in a C cup I swore there was no way I could begin to fill a cup that big, but I was very wrong and am now a happy, comfortable C cup wearer in all brands.

I was shopping in a LB store in a large Maryland mall when the power went out .  Emergency power gave slight light for safety but registers could not be used.  I watched ladies come and go asking for bra fittings.   I had not had one in years so when people thinned out I asked for a fitting.  I was shocked I had on a 38B and measured a 40 DDD.   OMG.  Fitted properly no more spillage I thought was just under arm and back fat.  No more discomfort at end of the day.   Proper bra and properly put on everything fit and was comfortable.   Since then as I age I get fittings each purchase.   No more bras that donot support properly.  In additiin, I had previously gone up to a  C but did not fill totally so went back to B.   What I had never realized was that cups come in different shapes.  I did not fill the.larger cups because I need to buy a "full" cup. The full gave room for my breast to sit properly.  The same bra size in a regular was trying to conform my breasts to them.  A good fitter is my best friend.   ;-)

My daughter had a similar experience. She used to buy her bras in 36B I think it was. When she was fitted, she was told she was a 32D. She looked at the fitter & told her "not on this planet I don't" (in reference to wearing a 32D) She tried on the 32D & she said it was a perfect fit for her.

When I was fitted I was wearing the correct band size but my cup size was one letter too small. ( I was wearing 38C, my correct size was 38D)
