Did you read any of the posted explanations of what "haircalf" is? Did you look it up and read the definition on a reputable web site? Unless you are a vegetarian all this hysteria about "haircalf" bags, shoes, etc. is absurd. "Haircalf" products are made of COW leather using a different process. Since cows are slaughtered for their meat would you rather see the hides destroyed or used to make products? Unless we outlaw beef, cows will be slaughtered in this country. In India cows are sacred and therefore never killed. But we live in the US and cows are raised for food (or milk) and their hides are used after slaughter.

Look up hysteria. There are humane ways of slaughtering animals. People are entitled to their feelings of compassion. Something you obviously lack. Just as much as you are entitled to your lack of feeling regarding animals.

Don't let your heart bleed too much. Every time they sell hair calf someone digs out this antiquated, ridiculous definition of hair calf. Who do you think is running around aborting calves and why? There is plenty of calfskin on the market from birthed calves but it.'s too soft and expensive to be used for anything but the highest end leather goods. Would you and your PETA friends like to subsidize all the male dairy calves that are born for which there is no purpose? You could give each farmer several thousand of dollars a year so they could be kept as pets? Maybe it's your responsibility to offer one a home in your backyard? You need to Learn the fact and reality of the situation!

Could you imagine HSN doing this? Since they have 22 choices in hair calf handbags/wallets, and about 6 choices in shoes; that would be a resounding YES! The highest end handbag vendors carry hair calf; it is a more expensive leather treAtment. If you are opposed to leather, certainly your right. But, at least try to get your facts strAight. Also, the argument is far more persuasive, when it's not so clearly, at least, in part, a swipe at the Host.
