I could not agree with you more!   DESIGNERS HEAR THIS PLEASE!  The high low hems/shark fins whatever you want to call them look like a bunch of left over rags you didn't know what to do with.

In the corporate office world, these fashions don't work!!!!  I refuse to buy any of the LOGO items you sell because that is all it looks like - a bunch of uneven hemmed rags.  Sorry Lori (the brand person).  It's not flattering to a 56 year old woman,  I don't even dare buy the cut out shoulder stuff either.  What I will say in your defense is that it is modest, meaning my girls are covered up.  And I truly appreciate that feature.  BUT PLEASE end this weird uneven hemline trend.

Please let me clarify my previous post @sallybusky.  I've never cared for them on me.  I kind of felt out of place there for a while because that seemed to be about all QVC was showing in fashion, yet I wasn't buying.  I totally respect your right to rock hi/lo hems, and I say good for you for wearing what you like!  As long as you're comfortable and happy, that's all that really matters. 😊

I see a lot of the asymmetrical and hi-lo hemlines and the shark bite items in the clearance racks.  Tells you something.

That everything goes on clearance eventually?

I don't have a problem with them; everything in moderation. and it depends on the specific garment.

I find the varying lengths works better than a tunic with an even hemline because the even hemline only serves to chop of your legs!

With the high low or sharkbite you actually see the full extension of your legs...

I don't care for them on me.  Some are just too exaggerated for my taste.  A slightly longer length in the back doesn't bother me too much.  I just think some are over the top.  I also don't care for fringe so go figure.  I have to dress for the corporate world and most of those fashions don't work. I am not into trends that come and go, but to each their own.

Re: HIGH/Low Hem

[ Edited ]

Well, I think trying to make hi-low hems synonymous with shark-bite hems is like comparing grapefruit to bananas.  They are both fruit and  they both grow on trees, but shark bite or like it states, looks like a shark took a bite (more like a handkerchief hem).  Hi-low is the front is higher than the back which I actually like because I am high-hipped and my skirt always rides up on the back.  It becomes symmetrical with the high-low.  With a hem lower in the back, I am not shorter in the back than the front when I bend over, and not likely to expose my undies nor fundies.

I think this high/low hem and tunic length tops and sweaters are here to stay for awhile.  It's a nightmare for me at 5'1" who hasn't been able to purchase a top in yrs.? Why are there all these long tops and/or ones long in the back only? Leggings and jogging sand skintight jeans. . As long as women wear these tight "show everything" bottoms, there'll be a need to cover their butts. Sadly I see no sign of leggings or tight jeans  leaving the fashion scene.

I don't know about you but I do NOT find a high/low hem attractive.  Whether you are a size 2 or 20.  I wish designers would come up with some other new ideas and leave the hems alone.   Hopefully, designers can dig into the 1940's when women dressed beautifully.    Cat Very Happy:

I don't agree about the 1949s, but high-low, shark-bite hems, and asymmetric hems, in general, are a sloppy, often unflattering fashion fad that needs to quietly go away.

I like a subtle high low hem for tighter pants. I own a few  just for that purpose. The longer hem in the back covers things. I really dislike shark bite hems. I do not understand how they flatter. I am also not a fan of asymmetrical hems, but I think they look better than shark bite hems. Most of my tops are straight traditional hems.
