Re: H by Halston - what should I do??

@ECBG Thanks for the link to the origin of sewist.

@Desertdi IMO There is nothing wrong with the word sewist. I far prefer it to the shortening of "chairman or chairwoman" to "chair."

I used to make costumes with a guy way back in the 80s. We used to talk about various words for costumers, tailors, seamtresses, etc.

He sometimes used his own term: seamster. But he was never happy with it.

@sandraskates    Actually, I refer to myself as a "dressmaker"

I have this issue a lot because of my shape, which is a pear.  Often I need to order the size I do too fit across my hip area but then the top part is big through the shoulders and/or under the arms.  The tailor I use is really cheap and I've not paid more than $10.00 to have this done.

I absolutely cannot order down a size because then the garment won't fit my lower half.

@Lipstickdiva  This is really my problem, however, there is alot of give in the bottom so I did think about reordering in a Medium.  I just got off the phone with Customer Service and she said the difference in the armhole in the M and L is 1/2 an inch so that really wont help.  SO back it goes...
