Grand Opening, Soft Surroundings, Charlotte, NC...

I went to the grand opening of Soft Surroundings today. It was packed to the rafters with clothes, bedding, lingerie, jewelry, make-up, books, candles, and scarves. Brand new store, so very clean and organized. Had an upscale boutique vibe.

It was crowded, but everyone was in a good mood...free cookies, juice and water. Everything 15% off.

I really liked quite a lot of the offerings...most were good quality...a few things that I would have considered buying were just too long...a few were bouncy (too much spandex LOL). Lots of beautiful spring colors. Some of the clothes and jewelry reminded me of Chico's.

I bought two pairs of the metro leggings, white and mid-chambray, which I have always wanted to try.

I am friendly with the store manager, Deb...she used to be the manager at JJill, which is right down the street. She looked happy and excited and gave me a big hug when I walked in, and I was happy for her.

I used to go to Blakeney Center just for JJill, but now I have another store to browse! YAY!

It's a great store. I have one about 40 min NW of me, used to go 3 times a year. Wonderful pieces

I always wistfully admire that long ruffled bedspread they always have in their catalog, along with matching drapes that puddle all over the floor. I always wondered what the whole sumptuous set would look like after a week in my house with the dog hair, dirt, and junk they drag in from outside. I'm sure they'd consider a "puddle" to be a dog bed.

@Kachina624 ... I'm changing my bedroom for spring/summer, and I just purchased a white ruffled coverlet (not from SS) w/matching shams. Don't have matching curtains, though, but I'm thinking of white sheers over the blinds.

I haven't started the transformation yet ... trying to figure out what to do with stuff laying around. I'll have to head to the container store for some plastic storage bins.

Soft Surroundings is full of beautiful luxurious items. The bedding is expensive, but worth every dollar for the lush beauty of the items. I have a full length long robe from them which is arguably the softest, most beautiful, robe I've ever owned (and I have a larger than normal collection of robes!). If you are in the market for a maxi skirt/dress I would look there first. Their long flowy summer skirts are to die for and don't look like the same old thing you see everywhere else.
