@Icegoddess Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.  Or am I missing something?

@Krimpette I guess it is for a lot of people.  It's not for me.  I don't usually buy more than one item in a day, so that means I'm paying more for shipping since it used to be $3.50 for most items.  It's a way to encourage the customer to buy more than what they originally intended to try to get a lower shipping charge or free shipping.  I, personally, don't appreciate, but it's great news for their target customer, the one that actually shops.

I put 2 items in my shopping cart at HSN, one item for $20.00 and one item for $24.95. The total shipping cost for the 2 items is $5.95.

@SilleeMee   that simply isn't true.   I have had several refunds from hsn and o funds were held.  Plus their returns are processed  much faster than the Q and the breakdown of the refund,  unlike the Q which in my opinion, could do a better job of breaking down how they calculate your refund

No need to announce your departure.  HSN will get along fine without you.

Basically the new shipping policy incentivizes larger purchases or buying multiple items at a time.

It doesn't work for me as I usually just buy one item at a time, and a lot of my favorite brands always had free shipping. I think they will lose a lot of custumers like me who make small purchases every now and then.

@Midmod   Totallly leaving HSN who has brands and products you love and can't find elsewhere sounds like the old saying "cutting off your nose to spite your face". The new shipping doesn't really sound too bad to me.  Over time I know I would come out ahead.  So break down and use your charge card once in a while and pay it off monthly to avoid the interest and take advantage of the new shipping rate.

If I only order 1 item that day it does now cost me an extra dollar and change, but usually if I like something I buy it in multiple colors so most generally I would reach the free shipping which would more than make up for the extra dollar or so I occasionally might pay.  Usually there is more than 1 thing I want anyway so most of the time free shipping.

The flat $5.95 is a good rate in itself as most other companies I buy from have much higher shipping rates.

I really don't know what you are trying to say.  Someone posted some erroneous nonsense about credit card companies holding the $5.95 supposedly for weeks or months and that has taken on a life of it's own.  Now it seems there's new take on that.  I can only say when I spent about $100 in one day, my items steeped for free.  My credit card was not charged with $5.95 for each item.  I was only charged for the items. On the HSN statement the $5.95 was charged and then written off as a "discount".  This is the way it worked for me, this is the way it worked for my daughter.

Re: Goodbye HSN 😭

[ Edited ]

This has been discussed on previous threads. If you go to HSN and read their new policy on shipping and handling, you will understand what the OP is stating. I think it is confusing as it states one thing in one paragraph and something different in the next paragraph. So hopefully, your order totals are correct. Have you checked your credit or debit cards?

If you go to Community Chat: Re: Over $100 in Shipping Fees From HSN on Free Shipping Items. I have posted on the second page at the bottom, the second paragraph of their shipping policy. I think tbis should answer any questions.

I just bought 3 items from HSN for a total of $42.00.

I was charged $5.95 shipping.

Was not charged $5.95 x 3 ($17.85)

I would have been charged $10.50 ($3.50 per item) at QVC for similar items.

Just keep your items in your cart until the end of the day.

That way you ensure that you will be only charged $5.95 or free shipping if you get to $75.00.

It's just higher shipping if you only buy one item for the day.  But if it's really something you want, what's 2 or 3 bucks more?

HSN is actually cheaper than the Q with this new shipping thing.

Nobody seems to have a problem giving QVC a shipping charge per item.

If you bought 5 items on QVC today you would be paying $17.50 or more in shipping costs.

QVC is where it really starts adding up.

Might want to say goodbye to them. 🤷‍♀️
