Re: Gathered/Puffed Sleeves

[ Edited ]

I have narrow shoulders, so I could wear that style. But when I see them, I always think of the dresses I wore as a little girl.

Sort of like this.

Also a style that stands out, like puff sleeves, is going to date an item (like a sweater) and I want to wear my favorites for a number of years.

I’m not a fan of puffy sleeves. Too girly looking for me. Reminds me of the puffy sleeve taffeta bridesmaid dress I had to wear back in the day. 👎🏻

I definitely will not be wearing this style as I would look terrible.

I kind of like the denim jacket with puffy shoulders.

I have small, slightly sloped shoulders, so I do like some puffy shoulders and arms looks.

I like the Talbots version I posted earlier much better -- just a little gathering at the shoulders rather than puffy pleats.

I think they look juvenile.  Think Little Bo Peep. I think Princess Beatrice's wedding gown would have been prettier if the sleeves that were added would have been sleeker.  This is a trend I will let pass me by.

I went back and looked at Beatrice's gown, and I still like it. I think the sleeves look feminine, not juvenile.

Love them if they aren’t too Exaggerated. They add femininity and elegance

doRe: Gathered/Puffed Sleeves

I've never liked the look at all.  I'm tall with broader shoulders and don't need them to look any bigger or draw attention to them.
