Re: G.I.L.I. dress in FAUX silk: $200.00+

Do you like the dress?  I don't even like it. That taupe color is awfully blah to me.

I don't even know where I'd wear such a thing.

I love the way the vendors on QVC use the word faux for polyester.  We have faux crepe de chine, faux silk, faux washed silk.  How dumb to they really think we are?

Way too much money -- I'd rather pay for real silk.

It's the Linea boho with one more tier and a little top attached. The boho is $49.00.

How do they come up with these prices?

I agree ladies-the color is blah, it's frumpy and I'd rather have real silk.

I prefer my boho skirt with one of my fabulous Linea tops!

Chrystaltree, I completely understand and agree with your premise about what is expensive to one, is not necessarily to another. I think what I'm reacting to, and possibly others are as well, is that the moment Jill Martin became the spokesperson, the prices on existing handbags went up overnight by $40-$80 dollars. There was no rhyme or reason to it except it coincided with Jill's arrival. It felt very disingenuous on QVC's part and that is why I am much more careful to make sure my GILI purchases are really worth their price. Just my two cents, I know it's not really on topic with the dress under discussion so apologies for getting a bit off point

Why don't they just call it "G.I.L.I. polyester/rayon maxi dress?" (That's exactly what it is.) I'll tell you why: Because then they couldn't charge $200+ for it. It's all in the perception.

I believe if Lisa was still here it would have sold quickly.  She could sell snowballss to Eskimo's. LOL .  I have noticed the GILI items are not selling out like they did with her.

No, I would not pay $200 for that dress, but than it isn't my style anyway.

When I first saw this dress Little House on the Praire came to mind.
