It's free shipping friday (today)  at Amazon, Walmart and most other online retailers!  Of course, not the Q!  Even some Etsy retailers are offering free shipping today!

I just wish I'd find what I want to buy where it's free.  It's been over a decade since I ventured to buy from HSN - couldn't begin to see myself in their clothes, had horrid experiences with some of their beauty lines, can't tolerate a few of their vendors, and don't like one piece of their jewelry except the way over the top pieces I'd never wear from the blond woman whose name I forget.

Same with LLB - they constantly offer me free shipping and bonus money to spend on another purchse while I can't find the first one!

Amazon is fine - as long as I stick to books and readers.  I hate their website -  way too much going on their for the few things I want to buy occasionally.

And therein lies the main reason I think QVC is still successful with its onair presentations - seeing one item at a time is very powerful.  I don't even like to shop brick and mortar when the stores have massive inventories - never did even when I was younger and really dislike it now.

Evine isn't doing free s/h either.  I see JTV is though.

All we keep hearing on local and national news is how overwhelmed all the delivery services are from UPS to Fedex to USPS.  How many people are going to order gifts today, because the s/h is free and delivery is being guaranteed?  And how many of those people aren't going to get their packages on time?  And how many will end up keeping the items anyhow even though they failed to arrive on time.

It just seems shady to me, at this late date, for companies to be offering free s/h.

Thanks for the heads up.  I'm not a big HSN shopper, but I agree that this is a wonderful sales technique.  Impulse buying it what pushes these retailers over the top this time of year.  It's a win-win for all.

This free shipping day must create a lot of additional stress for UPS, trying to get an additional "landslide" of packages delivered before 12/25.

Yep, QVC used to be my go to for online shopping.  This has changed recently since there new shipping prices (which are supposed to be cheaper for us consumers) yeah right!  No half off Shipping of the 2nd item.  Also, in Texas HSN does NOT charge sales taxes . . . but good 'ol QVC sure does!

So, for me . . . .it's off to HSN today for they have FREE SHIPPING today as well as no sales tax for us Texans!!!

Too bad QVC.  I've spent a lot of money here over the last 25 years, but no more!
