Found some great bargains today!

[ Edited ]

A Belle by Kim Gravel top I bought in ivory just became a primetime special for $29.89, so I ordered 2 more in the other colors and called CS and got a refund of the price adjustment for the ivory top. (A347143).

I also got another Quacker Factory top for $16.40 (A352898). I already have the navy/Americana and ordered the mint green/shells.

Lastly, I got a pair of Denim & Co apple red capris for $14.76 (A288103).

I just want to add...I don't think I ever bought a pair of pants for as low as $14.76 in my entire life! I'll be 60 at the end of the year and when I was 16 I started to buy my own clothes with money from my part time job.

Back then I remember saving up to get Jordache and Calvin Klein jeans and paid between $30-40+ for each...LOL

Wow Susan what great buys!  I like everything you ordered and you were lucky they were in your size.  Usually I find a good buy only to discover they are sold out in my size.  Enjoy when you get then!!  I always am like a kid a Christmas when I know I have an order on its way to me.

@dex  I haven't shopped for clothes other than at QVC since 2004. The last brick & mortar store I shopped at was Coldwater Creek. Once I discovered QVC there was no turning back. I'm very content with the brands QVC offers.

I'm glad you found a great deal on a jean jacket! Smiley Happy

I am just a few years younger than you, and my memory of the cost of jeans is a little different. To my memory, Jordache jeans were everywhere, and Calvins were pricier.  But they were all far more affordable than you remember. According to a June 1979 article from the NY Times (being 60, you would have been 16 in 1975), premium denim jeans produced by Sasson, Calvin Klein and Gloria Vanderbilt, began to appear in stores in early 1977, and at that time retailed for about $25, roughly double the $12‐to-$15 price of traditional Levis, Wrangler, and Lees.  Jordache Jeans were started in March 1978.  So chances are you bought jeans cheaper than you recall.  There were many sales as I recall.

@crawford5153  Thank you Smiley Happy

I usually have the same luck as you getting the real bargains with clothes in my size before they sell out. I got really lucky this time. It's rare I will find a primetime/lunchtime special or a deep discounted clearance garment that is something I want. I'll find an 'as is' once in a great while in my size, but even that is rare. I have better luck with other types of products.

Do you remember when there was a Sidney's store?  As a teenager I loved to shop there.

Just noticed the prime time specials are gone.  There was an Isaac ruffle sweater on there I believe for around $16.00 and now it is no where to be found.  It had been close to $60 so that WAS a good buy.

Re: Found some great bargains today!

@crawford5153 I grew up in Puerto Rico, so the stores were all different, though I may have shopped at JC Penneys.  I was in high school and remember all those jeans.  I think I had the Jordache.  They had no stretch and were all cotton I think.  I had to lie down on the bed to zip them up because we wore them tight!  The days before lycra,spandex...kind of painful....
