Re: Former Brands-Dialogue and Sports Savvy to mention a few

I just came across a Sports Savvy cardigan the other day, I am now wearing it again!

Re: Former Brands-Dialogue and Sports Savvy to mention a few

Anyone remember French Postcards?  Loved those tops and lightweight bomber jackets.  I donated a few when they became out of style.  Wish I had them now, though.  I'd like to see similar tops here, depicting various worldwide cities/places.  With a slight touch of sparkle/embellishment.  I do believe that they would sell well.   Paris, NY, Italian scenes, etc., etc.

Re: Former Brands-Dialogue and Sports Savvy to mention a few

Last month I contacted "Gary" asking him which D&Co leggings were similar to old Sport Savvy leggings, giving him the old Item # .... he responded that he was checking, but never followed thru.

I have a 2 pc. studded french terry outfit (black) that my mother also purchased (navy), and we wear these to almost every occasion in spring/summer.   I wish Gary would bring the quality and even this "line" back~!

Sport Savvy was a trademark of QVC.  I thought I heard Gary (?) say that Denim & Co Active was the same concept as the Sport Savvy line.

Agree with you on Sports Savvy - had many of their velour jog suits when I was slimmer. But am I the only one who remembers Urban Wool separates - lovely quality slacks, sweaters back in the  90;s and early 2000's but of course they had to be dry cleaned. Also Gabriella T sweaters with the most beautiful prints - all the sweaters were made in Italy, she would come over a few times a year with her sweaters and then no more...... And a small boutique like line called Cedar Canyon that had some great lightweight jackets with animals, prints - you had to see to appreciate. Also a line that was silk shirts and pants....I  guess I am dating myself - I started with QVC in 1993.......I guess that is why we are shocked at the prices today for the quality you receive, in general. I think the prices were adjusted when the shipping became a flat rate for clothes and no half price shipping anymore if you bought more than one item in one order........  so one just has to be more selective.......I never used to worry about returns, so I ordered much more. Cannot do that any more....

I think there was also Urban Linen. (or something similar)  I liked Cedar Canyon also.

David Dart, Victor Costa and Joan Vass had great lines for QVC.

I loved some of those brands too.  Loved the dialogue pants and the sport savvy sets were so comfy.

I liked all of the one's mentioned here.  I also liked Liz Claiborne.  They seemed more modern than some of what's offered here now.  Just because I'm old doesn't mean I want to dress like an old grandma.  Liz clothes seemed more modern looking.

I've posted here before I've pulled clothes out of my closet from maybe 4 or 5 years ago, and gotten so many compliments.

Now they just look boring!  QVC sells to their base (as do most)....Their viewerhip (listen to the caller in's).

Re: Former Brands-Dialogue and Sports Savvy to mention a few

I've said it here before, Dialogue slacks fit me perfectly and they wore like iron.  They were machine washable and dryable -- fabulous!!  I ordered new Dialogue slacks almost every season - I had every color they made plus 2 pairs each in navy and black.   Wish QVC still made Dialogue.  Or, at least, the quality of Dialogue.

I had a couple Motto sweater sets too.  Again, machine washable and always kept their shape.

What happened to the quality of QVC clothing?  Prices have gone up and up, but fit and quality have gone down.

I didn't like Sports Savvy ... this cut was just not right for my body.  It seemed to be cut for curvier figures.  I'm not curvy.

I liked Dialogue ... I'm still wearing some of the polka dot shirts.  Pants are long gone, as are the linen pieces.

Stuff that I'm still wearing from years ago:

On-The-Go Style

Koos

Sandy Starkman

Indigo Moon

Dialogue

Citiknits

Those brands have been gone for a very long time.  I like an updated, current look.  I won't say I like trendy pieces, I'll say that I like interpreting the trends for myself. So, while back in the day, I also purchased those brands.  I moved on when styles moved on.
