Forgot about brick and mortar shops

These days, I often order things online, mainly for the convenience. Even clothes. I was in my local Walmart yesterday and walked past a pretty cardigan (longer length) and went back to take a closer look. It looked and felt just like Barefoot Dreams. It was $19!! I didn’t buy since I already have more clothes than I need but I thought, “wow, I should check out more brick and mortar stores just to see what’s out there,” if I need something. If interested, it’s by Time and Tru - Super Soft Cardigan.

Re: Forgot about brick and mortar shops

In the past few years, Walmart has really upped their game.  I follow a lot of YouTubers who purchase clothing from Walmart, Amazon, Target, etc.  They model the clothing and provide links.  I can find similar items to lots of clothing shown on QVC and HSN at Walmart.  And before anyone says that the quality isn't comparable, lots of time--it is.  And if not, you've only paid a fraction of the cost, so no harm/no foul.

I mostly order online also.  I've been finding pants at Target and if they don't fit, I take them back to the store for returns. I never find much in our local stores but then we live in a rural area and they are smaller, older stores.........Belk, TJMaxx, Ross, Target, Walmart.

The Belk's is quite nasty with older carpets that make me sneeze.  They only have one ladies dressing room open and usually one cashier for purchases and returns of items other than cosmetics. .

And I often purchase "New w/Tags" items from Mercari, Poshmark and eBay.

@Natureluvr   Hi. I saw a video on FB on these Time and Tru sweaters from Walmart. They didn't have them in my store, so I ordered 2 online from Walmart. They are so soft and look like like Barefoot Dreams.
I still like going to stores to see and feel items in person, but I do shop online, maybe too much!

@Natureluvr   I've bought several items from the Time and Tru label.  Happy with all of them.  I don't know what makes Barefoot Dreams so expensive.  It's not cashmere and from what I saw of it in Nordstrom's, it's nothing "special."

I do quite a bit of on line shopping for home items on Walmart.com. Sometimes their prices are better than Amazon even with free shipping too.

Another item I saw at Walmart, (even though this would belong in the home forum,) were towels by Better Homes & Gardens. They also looked and felt very nice. I forget the price but agree that quality is definitely there with many brands.

I'm still shopping mainly in local stores. Just prefer and enjoy that more, especially with clothes because I can see details, feel fabrics, and try them on. Getting more difficult though as local stores keep closing which stinks.

Much better deals can be found at B&M stores than at QVC. Exchanges are simpler and no S&H. Do whatever works best for you.

I prefer local especially for clothing.  I still haven't found the secret to buying clothing that actually fits me online.  It's hit or miss.  In a B&M store, I can try on to my heart's content.

I used to shop Belk a lot, but over the years, especially after Covid, their selections have been disappointing.  However, I was recently in there and found some slim leg pants that were perfect.  It's been many years since I've bought a pair of dress slacks due to fit issues and I didn't like the fabric, too stiff.  These draped so nicely.  So, I went back to the Petite's section and found another pair in a different color.  And I didn't even have to hem them.

I'll often shop Costco, Target, Khols, etc. for clothing items and I don't believe the name brands at Costco are a lesser quality than elsewhere.  If I like an item, I'll wear it for years.

I don't shop B&M so much any more for other things except Home Depot and the Nursery because I hate driving around trying to find things.  If I have high confidence that a local B&M has what I want, then I will shop there.  I often check on Ulta's website to see if either of the stores close to me has what I'm looking for.  It's a win for them, since I like to wander around the store and often pick up other items too.  I don't really wander when I'm shopping online.
