Flashback to an Age of Innocence

Wow! This white eyelet dress is so similar to the one I wore to my junior prom 60 years ago. Mine had a lower neckline with spaghetti straps, a fuller skirt, and no pockets. But I still like the look, especially in pink.

100% cotton, $44 at Walmart.

Lovely! It's nice to see dresses defining the waist again @PickyPicky3 .

I love eyelet.  When I got married almost 50 years ago, my bridesmaids wore light blue eyelet gowns.

I never got tired of this fabric. It is so cool and fresh for summer.

Very classic.

Even the hem length is 'just right' for almost everyone.  Not too-too short, not too-too long.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

The dresses have summer written all over them.  Cute!

Here's the plus size version, mostly sold out. It's not as nice, but I understand some upper arm coverage and an elasticized waistline.

Re: Flashback to an Age of Innocence

@PickyPicky3   In 1962, I wore a similar white dress to my

Junior Prom. But, mine was not eyelet. It was sheer layers and

had a lace topper. Picture a short sleeved bolero that buttoned up the back. The lace topper. came just above the waist and had a scallopped hem. My clutch bag and high heels were gold leather.

I loved the clothes from the 50's and 60's, so feminine. We were still wearing petticoats under the full skirt dresses, in the early 60's.  Hats and gloves for church and dressy occasions.

@PickyPicky3  I bought this dress in pink to wear to Saturday evening mass during the summer. It's really cute!

Re: Flashback to an Age of Innocence

I have always liked that neckline and shoulder cut.  Eyelet however, I could live without.
