I actually DO have pipes for rods in our master closet. And yes, they're attached to solid wood, so I'm ok in that closet. The collapse happened in another room where I had overflow clothes hanging in a closet. That baby just buckled and tore away from the wall one night. Ugh.

Sorry it took a few days to get back to you but I thought they replaced the forum with a multi-page listing of every item under the sun.
Yes, we used pipes for rods. If someone doesn't like the look of plain rods, they can always cut down plastic covers from shower curtain rods.
We also used very sturdy screw-in wall hooks where rods wouldn't fit.
