I have a jacket in FL. The first and ONLY time I wore it Hubbs asked why I was wearing plastic. Any ideas on how or where I could wear this and not feel bad?

Anywhere you want.

Don’t wait too long to wear it. My experience has been that they start peeling after a year or two.

I agree with anywhere you want.

But if you have one of the recent (roughly the last 4 or 5 years) faux leather jackets, it should last a very long time.  I have two fabulous ones and they still look and feel like new, real, butter-leather.

Re: Faux leather

@Group 5 minus 1 I'm sorry your husband made that comment.  What do YOU think....is it plasticy?  If so, unfortunately you may have purchased a lower quality faux leather. Stella McCartney charges huge $$$ for her designer faux leather. You don't have to pay that kind of money to find a beautiful faux jacket and they have improved over the years with the technology.  Maybe you purchased it along time ago and if it is a plastic look, I would donate and look for a better quality faux.  I would not wear uncomfortable plastic clothing. I have several cherished faux leather jackets and still look beautiful after many years of wearing.

All clothing comes in different quality and price point.  You can find beautiful faux at a reasonable price.

It's your jacket, wear it anywhere you want to wear it.  If you don't like it, get rid of it.

Is the jacket black? Often black faux leather looks too shiny.

I recently tried on 2 different pairs of designer black FL pants. The material on both was nice and supple and looked good on the hanger. Tried them on- too shiny.

The FL jackets that I have are in a tan color. They look and feel great.

I think I will stick with the faux suede pants that I bought on clearance at the end of last winter. No worries about shine.

I am happy to see that real and faux leather is making a comeback for fall. I have many lamb leather jackets that are timeless and better quality than can usually be found at present.

For me personally, I wouldn't wear anything that looked like plastic. But I do own and wear faux leather jackets which actually look like real leather and I love them.

After your hubbs made that comment @Group 5 minus 1 , you will probably think of it everytime you wear it.  Smiley Sad

@Group 5 minus 1   Does Hubs have that much ffashion taste and do you have to please him or yourself?

If I Iistened or asked my DH for fashion opinions, I'd be in bright colors and prints , no distressed jeans and a very unhappy Shanus. So, I never ask and disregard his comments...BTW, he's lesrned over the years to just not make any suggestions.

Faux leather? It's a no for me. I have one black moto jacket that I purchased years ago for a great price and I  wear it all winter...no need for a heavy jacket here except a few days. So, price per wear and preference is for the real deal.
