Fashion from “To Sir, With Love”

Fashion from the 1960s. I was a little girl in the 60s, but I remember my older sisters wearing outfits like this. They also wore that teased up bouffant hair.

Did you wear any looks looks similar to these?

Love this movie, and that song!

Often, when we think of fashions from a certain era, we think of magazine ads or runway dresses.  These are actual outfits that everyday people wore on the streets and in their homes.

My Mom was still dressing me in the 60's.  My sister might have had a few outfits like that.  That is a great movie.  Have not watched it in a long time.

Didn't Lulu have a skin care line on QVC several years ago from QVC GB? Grew up with the fashion.

I wore some things like that but mostly I dressed "hippie".

We generally wore skirts with matching cartigans. Or a pullover sweater and skirt. Our blouses had Peter Pan collars and buttoned.  Dresses were shirt waists with a slim skirt, or shifts with princess lines.  Shoes were loafers or ballet flats like Pappagallo.

Most of us had long hair parted on the side.

I never did the white lipstick!

You've described what my older sister wore to school @ECBG . With penny loafers, no less! Luckily I was younger and no one wore skirts and cardigans - bell bottom jeans were in vogue when I was in high school. No teased hair either: long and straight was the way to go.

@AuntG There was a lady who would sew for me as I was just a beginner.  She made me a pair of bell bottom pants and a tunic top with straps.  There was a wide empire belt. The background was light navy, with big white, red, and yellow daisys.  I absolutely loved that set!!!

I loved watching the Sonny and Cher show.  I had a friend who was built like Cher and had hair very similar.  We graduated in '70.

Best decade ever for fashion and music. Yes we wore these clothes and teased our hair. Loved that movie.
