Some hits.  Some misses.  I noticed the trend toward, soft flowy, romantic.  Some of those were very pretty.

Taken together, my impression is that their clothes all look so cheap!!!! And, of course, I know that's not true, but they look like very cheaply made clothes.

Naomi Watts isn't terrible until you get to her spats.  Oy.  

And Laura Dern is just too much something going on, maybe too much bad print.

Some of the others look like they're wearing shrouds.

I love Renee Zellweger's outfit, love the vintage vibe it has. Her stylist knows how to dress her petite frame perfectly. There's always just the right proportion and a certain amount of structure that suits her so well. Never too overwhelming, clean and classic.

Can't wait to see her tonight, hope it's a perfect gown because all odds say she will win.

The Independent Spirit Awards have always been known for quirky more casual style. I believe they take place on a beach.
