Fashion 101: How do you decide on shoes/handbag colors?

If you are wearing green what color would you wear? I would think nude is safe. I do have some color shoes like red strap shoes for a red dress. Is not good to match say a navy skirt with navy shoes? Too matchy? When I think of green with green shoes my mind goes to being a bridesmaid. {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown} Yellow or coral? Coral=Brown or tan? Match the shade?

Which color handbag do you toss in? Pop a color from print or opposite the color wheel, or match to shoes?
