Re: Fall Fashion

[ Edited ]

I no longer love summer.  I used to, but times have changed and so has the climate.  I can't take this intense heat and humidity.  Day after day for almost a month.  Each day in the upper 90's and humid.  Each coming summer is hotter then the one before.  Hard getting in the mood for fall fashions.

I've been on these boards since they began. I never in my life ever heard anyone "hate" summer. I was astonished reading here how everyone hates summer. I've always loved summer. In fact, my wedding was planned in the middle of the hottest part of summer...late July. My children were born in the summer. I plan everything around summer. July 4th is my favorite holiday! I guess I'm just an anomaly.

@ID2  I live in a summer state...Florida....I married in summer, I was born in summer and I despise summer. I believe all of us have a right to our own feelings and choices. I don't like long days of heat and humidity. I choose Spring and Fall and actually my favorite month is January....which is heaven in Florida.

The last time I checked...we are ALL different.

tune in next weekend for fall fashion presentation!

@LTT1   It won't be Fall fashion...it will be her CIJ/holiday offerings. Check the program guide. It will be CIJ next weekend.

Yep, add me to the list of summer haters - Can't stand those (seemingly never-ending) hazy, hot and humid days. Smiley Sad

My neighbor told me, as I was getting out ouf my automobile and he was taking my garbage can to the street for me, he said it was so hot that he saw Satan up at Walmart looking for two window A/C units.

I've been appreciating the various brown/coffee/fudge items, especially pants/twills/jeans.

I used to wear brown pant suits and sweaters a hundred years ago (lol), and I desperately need a few brown/coffee/fudge colors in my closet!

Brown is very versatile.  Same with various lighter/medium shades of grey.

@ROMARY

I love those colors but can't wear the browns/tans/beiges unless they have heavy black in them or gray, but I would LOVE to have a pair of summer wool gabardine pants in khaki and a black cashmere sweater to wear with them.  I love those colors and I can wear that with a Ferragamo scarf I have from years ago.  A sweet memory of Autumn in my past and colors I can wear.

According to my teen diary, the temperatures were similar or even hotter in this part of the country when I was young.  We did not have A/C.  We were tougher.  We were accustomed to being outside. We swam, we sunned, we played tennis, golf, softball and we watched baseball games outdoors.  We are spoiled now to A/C and all the amenities of this century.

LOL.  Or either Susan Graver/Kim Gravel all day all the time, all the things you don't need.

@Nonametoday  I wasn't complaining about the CIJ shows/programming. I love watching CIJ!

I was just explaining to @LTT1  that KG will be presenting her decor next weekend...not Fall fashion.

@Regal Bee

I was visiting a friend on Tampa Bay who was my bestie in childhood.  She was an attorney there and had called me and told me that her doctors told her it would not be long and had asked me to come once more.  I made my way to Tampa and as I was walking in from the driveway (in February), a snake followed me up the steps.  No, I don't like Florida in the winter, summer, spring or fall because she laughed at me and told me she had wanted to move when she found an alligator in her garbage can but she knew she did not have long to live so her children could sell her place or live there, whatever they wished to do.

Thank you!

I must have misunderstood Kim to hint at the fact that next weekend would be fall fashions!
