Fall Essentials (per Nordstrom)

Just got my daily Nordstrom email .... Fall Essentials.

  1. New Florals
  2. Plaids and Tweeds
  3. Snake Print
  4. Traditional Toppers (hats)

1.  I'm not a floral fan ... so that's a pass.

2.  Not a plaid fan (except for a couple of tartans) ... I do like tweed (may be "genetic" .... some ancestors were Donegal tweed weavers).  I have two Donegal tweed sweaters ... so that's about it for me.  (Oh, I do have one  red/navy gigantic plaid turtleneck that I bought to wear under an SG navy jacket.)

3.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE snake print.  Just bought some booties in ivory snake ... and I have a couple of snake print handbags.  I may have some snake print blouses in my cool weather clothes .... can't remember if I kept them or donated them.

4.  I'm a really big fan of hats ... I like to wear hats.  I just ordered a new wide brim fedora.  I just downloaded some crochet hat patterns.  I need some new colors.

Re: Fall Essentials (per Nordstrom)

Weren’t these the same fall essentials as last year? Those ads always make me laugh.

I’ve never really liked snake skin or any other animal print. Plaids are mostly a miss, but florals can be nicely done though I wish there were more novelty type prints to break up the tedium.

Re: Fall Essentials (per Nordstrom)

Plaid, snake print, and animal print have been fall essentials for years. Not a fan of snake but I do like plaid and leopard. I'm not a hat person unless it's weather related, like sun, rain, and cold protection. Florals, I'm pretty selective, but I did pick up a blush floral blazer on clearance at Lane Bryant for $14.99. It's a spring item but I'm planning on wearing it this fall.

News flash!!   Tweed for fall.  Really, who buys it for summer?

I don't wear hats but I have purchased a brown houndstooth jacket and a grey herringbone blazer already.  I already have a couple pairs of leopard shoes.

@ALRATIBA

I don’t really care what Nordstrom or anyone else considers essential but...

I’m not sure how they define “new” vs other florals but I recently purchased a fall button down blouse for fall and it is a floral print of sorts.

I just ordered a red/gray plaid blouse, not flannel, a bit different in style. I’ve got a few other plaid items. Don’t think I have tweed right now other than socks.

Snake/reptile seems to be my animal print of choice. I’m all set there! Handbag, shoes, blouses...

Hats? That will be a big no for me with the exception of a few baseball style  caps I occasionally wear while out walking.

I’d love a lightweight summer fabric tweed in bright or light colors. What fun!

I’m pretty sure they are essentials every year. But, hey, we can pretend to be surprised... lol

Re: Fall Essentials (per Nordstrom)

I love plaids and florals and of course animal prints.  I am into print pants now so I need more plain tops!

I am eagerly waiting for Fall to start wearing some new animal and plaids I have recently purchased and wanting to swap out my summer wardrobe for Fall/Winter!  Love the colors of Fall and the neutrals (greens, brown and grey for me for Winter.

Of course I love my summer brights too.  I guess I just love clothes!
