This fall I've become obsessed with these sweaters ... I've decided they will be my staple for casual, effortless dressing this fall and winter. All I have to do is "throw on" a tee shirt underneath, and pair with corduroy pants or jeans ... nothing to ponder, except which color for the day ...

@Group 5 minus 1 It's a style as seen in all but the last one. I adore Fair Isle sweaters and have one beautiful one. They are classics.

Fair Isle has since been adopted as a general term for multicoloured knitwear, but there are still small numbers of garments produced on the island from patterns which have been handed down through generations. Each design contains an average of four colours, with only two colours used in each row.Feb 19, 2020

Personally, I refer to Fair Isle as a pattern that wraps around the shoulders.

I owned 3 Fair Isle cardigans I the 60 S that my Mother purchased from Ireland.  They were beautiful sweaters.

Loved Fair Isle sweaters since my teens.  

They are all gorgeous especially the first two.  I have to check it out.
