White Stag is a brand with a very respected history. It began decades ago (before 1950) and was sold to Walmart in 2003.

I find Walmart is great for workout clothes. I get running tights, tops, etc and they come in larger sizes and nice colors. They carry Danskin.
I'm peeved at the moment at Walmart because they arbitrarily changed the price on some items for a company a friend worked for, causing the items to not sell any longer and the company went under (Walmart ordered them to double the price and kept the extra for themselves--reps and company got not a dollar more.) They'd already ordered in 1000's of units, and when they stopped selling, the guy was stuck with them.
But I have to say, their workout clothes and casual clothes like tees are very good. I got a tee shirt with a lace print insert that matched a Susan Graver skirt and I traveled all over vacation with it as a dress for "I don't want to look too casual but I want to be comfortable."

I bought three t-shirts at WalMart about six years ago for $5.00 each, and they're some of my very favorite ones. Of course they're for very casual wear, but they're white with a beautiful floral design in the center of the front with a little bit of sparkle - one with blue shades, one with pinks, and one with yellow/khaki. I like them so much that I handwash and hang to dry... at that price, I want them to last!
I haven't been to a WalMart since then, I don't think, for other reasons, some of which have been in the news. But I love my $5.00 t-shirts!

I agree you have to be careful what clothing you buy there, but there are definitely some deals. I've had some pretty good luck, and am still wearing for the 3rd season. The good thing about tanks and t-shirts, I am usually layering with those and there is no way to tell the quality even if they didn't look like top notch.

My concern when I see clothing priced that inexpensively is that they are probably made in some third-world country by under-aged children. That's probably not rational because more expensive items are probably made in the same manner, but that's my gut reaction...
