@VanSleepy

LOL...so true!

Yeah, that's about as crazy as I get with it all, too.   Altho, I do own this one in pink from HIH.   It's cute, but it's the only nod I'm giving to the big bell sleeve.   Wear your top in good health and I hope no one asks if it's ripped!   Smiley Very Happy

i am loving the funky sleeves.  though not new, i am old enough to remember them numerous times before.  and of course way way back they were very elaborate and ornate.

clearly i do not wear them when i am doing hand work,  ie dishes, cooking, crafting, etc.  i also do not do cartwheels or ladders in a skirt or dress.

these recently delivered and i love!

I like them and think they're lovely.

And as horribly difficult as it was I mastered the art of carrying on my day in one! lol

Seriously though; if one is so flummoxed by a sleeve then I'm

thinking they have bigger issues.....Reminds of that other fashion riddle: However will I use the potty in a jumpsuit?? lol

I was up around E. 34th Street earlier.  One of the small shops I passed had lots of ruffle stuff in the windows.  In fact, both windows had only ruffled skirts, dresses and tops.

There was an ivory fitted blouse with long snug sleeves.

Down the front and back of each sleeve was a ruffle that looked about 3" wide and edged with a narrow black binding.

It was a pretty blouse but I can't imagine what to wear over it without messing up the sleeves.

@ALRATIBA

Maybe a vest?

@Andreatoo

Perhaps if you can quickly run out of the house, hop into an already warmed up vehicle .... that would work.

But, imagine it's 35 degrees outside ... I have to walk down to the corner (about a block) ... and then I'm waiting on the corner trying to flag down a taxi.    I don't think a vest would be warm enough!   Woman LOL

I had to laugh at your riddle regarding the jumpsuit and the bathroom.  I can remember having just that problem!  Regarding the bell and flapping sleeves on blouses, a picture came into my crazy mind after reading that comment - how do I say this?  Is there is problem with .........  can you think of what I am referring to?  I don't want to come out and say and get the thread banned but it is funny!

Anyone else noticing the trend toward every sleeve on blouses or sweaters having some sort of weird detail...flared, pleated, puffy, etc.?

Sometimes this styling begins at the elbow making wearing a jacket or blazer impossible. It begins with one designer and spreads like poison ivy until a plain sleeve is impossible to find.

The only bright spot is maybe while busy designing these ornate sleeves (reminds me of the Steinfeld puffy sleeve episode), they’ll forget about the cold shoulders and shark hems.

I'm OK with some of the style. This is one of my newer tops with bell sleeves.

@ALRATIBA

Well you can always wear it when it's not super cold out first off but if you want to wear it in the winter I would suggest a cape or a poncho and that's all assuming you won't wear a coat with wide sleeves... I'm picturing a coat with a high stand collar and wide sleeves maybe about mid hip length.. it would be a little bit retro

@Chi-town girl

Beet purple is a good description! That's the same color as the Indigo thread top I just got! And it's gorgeous!
