Re: FASHION DAY SHOULD BE CALLED DOONEY & BOURKE DAY!

I could not believe the hours of D&B on Fashion Day. I was hoping for some new designers but, since I did not purchase anything, I saved $$$.

Totally agree -- way tooooooooooooo much Dooney. I won't spend that much for a purse, and they are all way too big for my tastes anyway. Even if I were interested in their purses, I would never watch so many hours of programming.

It's like that on any day where there's a Dooney TSV.

Agreed! Call it what it is, don't do the bait & switch; it was a bit insulting.

Re: FASHION DAY SHOULD BE CALLED DOONEY & BOURKE DAY!

Is anyone really that surprised? We knew that D&B would have several hours of air time and that the remaining hours would be dedicated to the same old same old stuff (OrthaHeel, LOGO, Susan Graver and Denim & Co.). I saved myself the aggravation and spent the better part of Saturday morning in the garden. Rested in the afternoon watching a little PGA golf and the afternoon NHL playoff game; then went out for a little evening shopping and dinner. It was a good day and honestly when I did click over to QVC during commercial breaks my mind was put at ease that I was missing nothing as OrthaHeel or Dooney was on each time. I didn't even catch a glimpse of D&C although I assume they had at least 4 hours throughout the day.

Re: FASHION DAY SHOULD BE CALLED DOONEY & BOURKE DAY!

There are only a handful of fashion vendors here on qvc so nowadays when there is a fashion day it's always the same few - dooney, SG, d&co, IM, quacker (really??!!), Bob Mackie. And whichever one gets to be the tsv, that one is one 12 of 24 hours.

Years gone by fashion days were chock full of every single hour by another GREAT REAL designer. Fashion days were fun then.

Re: FASHION DAY SHOULD BE CALLED DOONEY & BOURKE DAY!

It's because they had a TSV. Anytime they have a Dooney TSV they have multiple Dooney shows all day long. They must sell very well. I have some Dooney bags, and love mine but the shows bore me to death. I just don't watch. I skim over new items every morning and see if there is anything I am interested in seeing. Usually there isn't. I probably buy one or two Dooney bags a year.

Q has become very predictable since they did their market research and honed their presentations down to what sells the best and what viewers will order the most of. That is why fashion day just isn't exciting and interesting anymore, it used to be filled with a lot of variety and different things, but when they figured out what sold they just started going with that and threw the variety out the window, they don't want to waste air time anymore showing things that are mediocre sellers. Having said that I still find some things sometimes I like and will buy.

Even tho I wasn't interested in the TSV bag, I do feel it was a fairly good price for what you got. If the quality is there, then it's a good deal. I know there are ladies who wait for TSV pricing and easy pay to get their Dooneys. That's understandable.
