Re: Everything Velvet & 70's Style

[ Edited ]

I love velvet and always wear it during the Christmas holidays.  I have numerous classic pieces, ranging from dresses, skirts, jackets, slacks, tops to formals.  Really the only thing that changed is the velvet.  Over the years it's become stretchier and lighter weight.

I've always had velvet scarves as well as well as handbags and shoes, both pumps and flats.

Over the years I've made velvet (sometimes paired with plaid taffetas) dresses for our Grands for their Christmas dresses.

I am not a fan of velour.

Maybe in small moderation..like a cami tank or something..even a pair of boots..

but no to those pants...sometimes things go out of style for a reason LOL...

I haven't worn velvet since I was a flower girl at age three.

It doesn't seem to appeal to me for some reason & I don't want to revisit the 70s either.

I think the right lightweight velvet jacket or vest might might tempt me but that is about it. So I won't be looking to add velvet but I'm not going to avoid it either.

I like Velvet but not in 70s styles. I already own velvet boots and skirt.

Swoon, I just bought a pair of velvet leggings and a burn out velvet stripped blouse from Nordstrom.  Not to wear together but to pair up with other items, it's like wearing head to toe animal print, we wouldn't do that.  But a few pieces to mix in keeps our wardrobe fresh.

Did you get the Paige stripe burnout blouse?  If so, I love it!

I'm kind of digging these pants :-)

There are many elements: wind, fire, water
But none quite like the element of surprise

Another new velvet item from DG. Cute jacket. Heartthe purple.

Would not wear it head to toe/paired up with the velvet pants. As a separate with jeans or leather pants, yes. Priced at 90, yikes! Alot of DG items, esp the tops are overpriced.
