Probably, because manufacturers can't be consistent between brands. Sometimes a medium in one brand is a large in another. Size 10 in one brand won't fit but will in another. If women's clothes were more like men's we wouldn't have that problem. I can pick out anything for my husband and it fits.

Maybe more! I have kept a few items of clothing that were my favorites back when I was a size 7-9 and I do know I will ever fit in them again. Two years ago I got rid of all clothing that was too big and then I had a broken shoulder and was not allowed to move much and do anything so I couldn't work out and ate a lot of chocolate and my SO got me all kinds of things I like and I put on 30 pounds so had to buy a larger size to go to PT nad OT. I sure could have used all the larger size clothing. At least now my weight is back down. Now I will keep at least one pair of jeans and several pairs of the larger jogger pant just in case..

No. One size in each label (though labels themselves seem to have off-sizing).

So, I take the same size in each label I buy.

Absolutely yes! Fit varies quite widely between some manufacturers.

I have been the same size for more than 20 years, but I do size up for bathing suits and sometimes sweatshirts and jeans. So, I guess I have two sizes.
