I would not (or could not) wear it but I don't think she looks bad in the picture on the right.

I am a big fan of jackets (the third piece) and I also have problems with the jacket closing but if I buy them large enough to close they are too big everywhere else and look sloppy.  Add that to the fact that I always wear my jackets open.  The only jackets/coats that I make sure close are those worn strictly for warmth.

I don't think it looks too small at all. It does look as thought it's maybe tied in the back or something. Not all tops belong down over the hips.

(Nor can I tell whether or not the jacket would close or not -- it is a very fitted jacket, so it may give that impression when it's open.)

Finally, I look the look of athletic-style pants mixed with other types of pieces.

I kind of feel like it’s how I dress when I’m trying to do something different and “trendy” and realize, when I get to work, how it just doesn’t all work together.
