I adore this dress but the just off the shoulder thing would drive me nuts!
I ran into her once in the late 70s. She was married to the Virginia senator then and we were all at a steeple chase event outside of Little Washington. She was dressed like the rest of the rich horsey crowd in jeans button down shirt and a riding jacket

Re: Elizabeth Taylor Fashion

Here's an interesting tidbit.....

"Taylor's eyes in particular drew attention; they were blue to the extent of appearing violet, and were rimmed by dark double eyelashes, caused by a genetic mutation called distichia.  A distichia is an eyelash that arises from an abnormal spot on the eyelid. This abnormality, attributed to a genetic mutation, is known to affect dogs and humans."

Re: Elizabeth Taylor Fashion

I love retro styles............especially the square necklines.

Also sweetheart necklines.

Well, so many more............boatneck/bateau, semi-funnel, etc.

I've  also liked the look of wearing cardigans backward, with the buttons at the back!

Why is it that many women love those retro looks?

I also like small-ish scarves tied at one side of the neckline.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

Re: Elizabeth Taylor Fashion

Just stunning even in her slip !!!!!   I do not use the word beautiful to describe many women.  I reserve it for the true beauties and Elizabeth Taylor was blessed with true beauty!
