I know why I go to church on Easter. New beginning, life after death. This is what I am celebrating today. After darkness comes light and hope for something better.

I love to wear something new for Easter. I look forward to it. Doesn't always mean the whole outfit is new but something is new. I always like to dress up for Easter and everyone seems to be so happy and the church is full. Wonderful feeling.

As a child, my Easter experiences were as PinkSugar described. I actually still have one of my little pocketbooks, as well as the Easter picture of me carrying it when I was 5 years old. I remember several favorite dresses, and my hats. I still have my absolute favorite Easter dress from when I was 6. It was a sleeveless heavy weight white cotten dress with a red and white striped sash that was tied into a large bow in the back. There were cute little green frogs (stamped) around the hem of the dress, and the matching hat was a white straw bowler style with a felt green frog with googly eyes on the very top. When I walked, the frog on the hat moved and looked like he was opening his mouth. I remember drawing a lot of attention at church with that outfit, and then got to wear the ensemble to school, because my teachers best friend attended my church and mentioned my outfit. My teacher sent a note to my Mom asking if I could wear my Easter outfit to school; even the hat, so she could see it. I did, and my teacher took me to every elementary classroom to show me off. Mom said the hat got crushed in the closet, but both of my daughters wore the dress one time, just so I could say they wore it. The dress is quite faded now and the fabric has started to split, but what special memories I have in that little dress.

Most folks at our church will dress up, probably a bit more on Easter Sunday. I plan on wearing my new blue dress with some silver jewelry. I won't be wearing a hat, but would not be surprised if a lady friend shows up with a decorative chapeau.

Here's the dress, it's from Alloy.

That is a lovely dress in a beautiful shade of blue. It is also very clingy and body-conscious. Kudos for being in shape to wear something like this; most women would be afraid of advertising lumps and bumps. And for Easter Sunday church? Well........personally I think this body-hugging style is more suitable for an evening out. JMO.

If you have the body, then go ahead and were it!! Tooo many times I see women wear these clingy dresses with lumps and bumps. Not a pretty sight! Go ahead and wear it to church.

ITA with that. Love the dress but would never wear it. It would look good on my daughter though.

I may have the wrong poster in mind, but StylishLady, I have seen pictures of you and your fashion on the boards here with face blocked (that is the safe way). You DO have the body to wear that dress!!! YOU GO GIRL!!! PS It is a beautiful dress and you will look great!

I have to say that even if you had that model in the picture's body - that dress is not appropriate for church. Too low cut and way too clingy.just because you can wear something doesn't mean you should.

I would never not wear a hat on Easter, what a nice tradition. Zoologist, your mother sounds like my kind of woman.
