The way its going this week, a sweater and heavy coat might be a good choice.

a beautiful 39 today in Northern NJ, looks beautiful until you open the door {#emotions_dlg.ohmy}

You never know. We had snow Tuesday, it was very cold yesterday but sunny and then today, it's supposed to be low 60's and they are predicting 70 for Easter Sunday. In the beginning of the week they were only predicting mid-50's for Sunday. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

There is no sense in deciding upon an outfit until the morning of. My husband had to shovel this morning before work, yet they are predicting 70's over the weekend!

I am editing to add I really dislike having to plan outfits both this time of year and in the fall. Nine times out of ten, the weather and I are clearly not on the same page!

I can remember when my mom used to slave over her sewing machine for weeks to turn out Easter frocks for her four daughters. My sisters and I were always decked out in layers of chiffon or organza with crinolines underneath (when we were little), white gloves, Easter hats bedecked with ribbons and flowers, and new white patent Easter shoes worn with lace-edged socks. Mom also got a new Easter outfit every year. Nowadays some people still follow those old traditions, but I rarely do. I'll wear something in springy colors Sunday, but it won't be brand new or overly dressy. Easter is more about the meaning than a new outfit for me.

It's a mix at my church too. I think it's just up to you and what you are comfortable wearing. I'll be wearing a choir robe. . lol

Was trying on clothes today for Sunday services. Have recently lost a lot of weight & have yet to completely replenish my wardrobe. Think I will wear a pastel floral-print skirt, an LL Bean tee, and a pink jacket along with sandals. The church I'm going to is new for me. Was just welcomed as a member & confirmed on Palm Sunday, so I haven't been going all that long but I'm assuming they mostly dress up. Hope everyone has a blessed day.

I will wear a navy linen sheath dress with matching jacket. I'll use red accessories with it.

When I was a little girl ladies in our church would obsess about what to get the wear on Easter. When I was about 11 my mom and I decided that we were not focusing on what was important enough, so we wore something old. That became OUR tradition.

Easter is the ultimate joyous celebration - the biggest one of the year. The Lord has beaten even death and is in Heaven with his Father. There is nothing wrong with getting dolled up and CELEBRATING. Tomorrow we will be sad but Sunday is all about JOY. why does getting a new dress mean you have forgotten the meaning of the day? The joyous happy day.

Most folks at our church will dress up, probably a bit more on Easter Sunday. I plan on wearing my new blue dress with some silver jewelry. I won't be wearing a hat, but would not be surprised if a lady friend shows up with a decorative chapeau.

Here's the dress, it's from Alloy.

WE felt that focusing on us and on what we were going to wear was keeping US on focusing on the true meaning of Easter. Why do people observe Lent? I think everyone chooses to worship in their own way. This was making the day not about us and fashion but more about the religious aspect. To each his or her own.

Back in the 1950/60s, yes. But except for little ones (6 yrs old and younger), no. I wear only black dress slacks - that's all I've worn the past 15 yrs since becoming a widow. Black, white, grey, etc. tops/sweaters with the dress pants is my 'uniform'.

My mom wears a hat every single Sunday to church -- she has about 50 very expensive hats from Von Maur, Nordstrom, etc., so no need for her to get a new one specifically for Easter.
