I went to church and wore a black pair of pants with a black, white, and several shades of blue striped tunic that has a large silver zipper in the front/center.  It was nothing new.  Most everyone at our church dresses up but there are a few who wear jeans.  By dressing up, I don't mean suits and dresses with hose and heels though.

@beach-mom   I loved your post. Thanks. She's great, but it truly was/is a gift for her to "take me in" as a Mom "sub".

I was very casual in knit pants and a flannel top!  I was on my own but it was fine and the weather was nice, mild but pleasantly so.

I just had this conversation with my sister about how we used to dress up for Easter when young.  We always had new outfits complete with Easter hats and a topper jacket!  Our shoes patent leather.  It was such a big deal to be dressed up for the holiday and everyone did.  My father always gave my sister and I white lilies!!  Ah memories.

It was a beautiful 80* day in So Cal.  I wore Kim Gravel's recent TSV (A393153) shrug and tank set in pink, dark denim ankle jeans (Macy's) with gold/floral embellished flats to church/worship service.

Little girl Easter 1960s -- can't look at a straw handbag or patent leather shoes without thinking about my Easter outfits. We had our choice between gloves or hats. Sis is 21 months older so when she outgrew her outfit -- it belonged to me. It was one of those rare things my parents splurged on. My older brother was less thrilled about his boy suits than we were our darling outfits.

I was cooking all day for the Easter dinner.  I had  on a print tee with 3/4 sleeves, jeans, and my navy apron.

@Shanus

Love your beautiful story.  My DIL had an "absent" mother while she was left to grow up with a sister 15 years older since her mother was a stewardess.

She much prefers to be with me.
