Thank you for your advice on the Investment pants, etc. I went to Dillard's shopping because I got the email saying Antonio Melani on sale, 40% off (as I recall). I wanted to get a couple pairs of pants and a couple tops. You know we all need new stuff during the holiday season.
I tried on every pair of Antonio Melani pants in my sizes (the larger and the smaller). There was just nothing about them that fit like it should and I usually wear that line very well.
I figured out why. My husband had been praying that I did not find anything to fit in that line. He thinks I have too many clothes. Shame on him. Anyway, the cute little sales clerk said, "I have some pants similar to this one over in the Investment rack." Oh, yeah. They were. I found pants there that fit in length, in rise and waist, butt, everything.
I got 5 pairs. I would have only gotten 2 pairs of AM for that price, even with the 40% off. I got some navy blue ankle pants, a winter white similar to the AM (with zippers like a pair of RL that I have been loving), some brownish ones that look like the Burberry sharskin, a gray pair (different gray from the 2 pairs I have now) and a pair of black pants. I can always use another pair of black pants.

Investment pants are one of my favorites. Unfortunately, I now live in an area without a Dillards. Westbound was also one of my favorites from that store. Will have to check online.
Thanks for the reminder!

@Nonametoday Now that is a good salesperson. I have a Dillards close by and its always nice to get good customer service and ones that will listen to what you are looking for.
And you are right...you can never have too many pairs of black pants.

@NonametodayI'm SO glad you found exactly what you love! That, indeed, is a rare nugget!
I love Antonio Melaini, especially their stylish jackets, but pants are a hard fit for almost everyone. I have certainly had the same search!
Investments makes excellent work related items for the moderately price point. Their swearters are fine for the price too. I, personally, would get a blazer from another area, because their fabrics don't tailor into lapels and strong shoulders well.

@CAcableGirl2They're supposed to that. It's better that you make a purchase before you leave the store. They "turn around the sale". Most people do steer you elsewhere because they want to help.
If we don't have it, I'll tell you where you can get it.

@Nonametoday Count me in as a fan of Investment slacks, also. Black, navy, grey are my basics. Glad you had such a great experience with such a friendly, helpful salesperson. That's usually the case at Dillard's in Lincoln. Good place to shop.

@ECBG I have a pair of slacks I got from Nic & Zoe, a skirt from Boden, a couple pairs of pants I had gotten earlier from Ann Taylor, a pair of jeans from Stein-Mart, some tops I got in early Autumn, two pieces of LDO, a jacket from Cremieux and one from Melani. I am about finished with shopping now. Oh, yes, I forgot. I got some I Trump pants on sale at TJMaxx. I think they were close-outs since her brand has gone defunct or whatever. I do love her clothes and the fit. I know that angers a lot of people but her clothes fit me well so I don't care what brand they are as long as they are attractive, fit well and the price is right.

@NameAlreadyTaken. Sounds like a great haul! Enjoy!!!
@ECBG Well, you know I have a weight issue. I take steroids which causes serious weight gain. I give clothes away. Then another autoimmune disease kicks in, so I lose weight. It's a roller coaster.
I gave a ton of clothes away last year that I could wear this year and then I keep classic clothes which do not go out of style and I do keep too many and oftentimes I just let them hang in the closet. I believe it is true that we wear 20% of our clothing 80% of the time.
