Those sashes have got to go.  Looks like Miss America in Atlantic City.

@Nancy Drew   It has nothing to do with jealousy and as far as weight is concerned, if it is tailored and fitted, properly, a formal white tie is very slimming on a man regardless of size.  Pavarotti is a perfect example, he looked wonderful in a white tie formal dress.

YEPPERS!  We are, can’t speak for the comment made by  @Nancy Drew

Why DON’T we seem to critique men’s wear?

I do agree, the length is off, not slimming as no doubt intended.

@Drythe I think he is a sloppy dresser to begin with. It may be because he's so overweight, but he never looks put together. The other men look nice.

@Drythe I love men's fashion as much as female but it never seems to be mentioned, here.  I love a well dressed man.  The cut of a jacket is important to me!  Love a casual jacket with suede elbow inserts, a beautifully tailored pair of pants with a sharp knife pleat!  I am from a generation where men dressed and I was raised in New York as well, so I admire a beautifully dressed man.  I favor English tailoring and their cut but I was lucky, my husband was tall and slim and it suited him.

All of them? Why would she invite the entire extended family?

That sash is as Important as the tiaras.  It signifies that she is a member of the royal Victorian Order. She just earned it and it is a privilege to be able to wear an order.  It  is given to family members of the Queen for their service to the royal family.

They are only worn at formal occasions.

Here is a picture of the other royal wearing their orders before Kate was bestowed hers by the Queen.

Add me to those who thought the lovely Lara Trump looked charming in her black and white, stylized floral print gown. I'm not sure at what stage she is in her pregnancy, but the dress is so flattering and flowy.
