The Duchess of Cambridge made a visit to Bletchley Park on Tuesday to meet young children taking on the role of codebreakers. Kate was viewing a special D-Day exhibition to mark the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings, and joined a group of youngsters in their codebreaking workshop. The boys and girls re-enacted what it was like in June 1944, pretending to intercept and decipher German communications.
Kate was given a tour of the interactive exhibition, D-Day: Interception, Intelligence, Invasion, and met with those who helped restore the Teleprinter Building. During the Second World War, codebreakers received hundreds of thousands of enemy messages in the building, intercepted at secret listening posts across the UK.

Too long.

The Duchess of Cambridge looked elegant in a polka dot dress as she arrived at the home of the Second World War codebreakers at Bletchley Park today.
Kate re-wore the Alessandra Rich dress she sported in Prince Charles' official 70th birthday portraits for the outing this afternoon.
Kate is on hand to see a special exhibition marking the valuable role codebreakers played in D-Day ahead of the 75th anniversary of the invasion next month.
Bletchley Park holds a special personal significance to the Duchess as her grandmother, Valerie Glassborow, was among those who worked to decipher the secrets of the German Enigma machine.

Camilla ruined this beautiful family portrait--what else is new.

Hair, makeup, jewelry perfect. I hate to say it but I am starting to agree with others who say she dresses a little frumpy.

A professor at NYU and Parsons who specializes in the sociology of style said Kate's is preppy. I'd say very preppy.

I love her shoes; the dress not so much.

Oh, for heaven's sake -- they took a series of photos for the birthday. This one was just a more candid, informal pose that they released (something amusing must have happened off to their right -- George is laughing, Meghan and Harry appear to be laughing, Kate is smiling in that direction, Camilla is pointing it out to Charlotte, and most of them are not looking at the camera). Here's another go at it:
