Kate was pictured carrying a huge bag of books as she stepped out of the Waterstones bookstore near her Kensington Palace Home on Friday.

A source said that Kate had asked Waterstones staff for history and military-themed books for children.

Will and Kate’s three children are fans of Room On The Broom by Julia Donaldson, with the Prince revealing: “I read this to our children all the time.”

The book tells the story of a friendly witch threatened by a dragon.

Kate is wearing a coat from Mulberry.

Kate has worn the coat before.

The Mulberry ‘Paddington’ coat is a single breasted style, crafted of a wool blend with a touch of mohair. It also features contrast wool melton trim under the collar, besom pockets, and horn buttons.

Love the color and how the turtleneck looks with it.  So polished.

Interesting that she would be out shopping for books.  I guess it is never easy to just get out and about like "normal" people, but I'm happy to see her doing so.

It's like she wasn't expecting to be photographed at that time.

Yes, she isn't smiling!  Who knows what was going on....someone may have been getting rowdy, or yelled out an annoying question, or anything.

Every once in a while we get a glimpse of Kate when she isn't "on". Here she looks like any woman we might have seen at the bookstore on a busy Saturday morning. 

It's pictures like this make make her appear more real to me.
