What I saw didn't have the charm of the 1970's.
The Gunne Sax dresses from the '70s!

Ralph Lauren from 1978, and last year (I think is when he made it). I love that white/blue dress.

i just dont care for the look on me.
@sunshine45 Thank you for a reasonable post! You said that you don't buy this style because you don't like how it looks on YOU. No comments about how awful it is, or how bad it makes everyone look.

@SnowOwl79 I googled "Target prairie dress" and the only result was a pretty balloon sleeve dress that was no longer available likely due to selling out. I've never seen anything like your picture at any fashion store online. I wonder if Target has a sense of humor.
Current tiered dress designs are lovely.
Here are some current examples of tiered dresses from Macy's, HSN, & Anthropologie:
Tiered dresses are definitely not toddler dresses or "Little House" dresses.
@ECBG I think the green dress you posted is cute. It would be good with leggings in cool weather and with sandals in warm weather.

I love the tiered dresses. The fabric tends to be a bit more flowy and feminine ... certainly a step up from the scuba dresses lately !! I think clothes that are a bit more snuggly fit look inexpensive.

@Desert Lily that's odd. I used Google and they were under Images. Add "challenge". Or "bored panda" or "TikTok". It was a thing during lock down. Many bought one of the dresses and took elaborate photos. Men and women, and children.
