It all comes down to, does one want to buy cheap, or does one want to buy quality.

Sure, one can find clothes in the dollar bin at the local Mart, but it won't be good quality.

If one wants good quality, one is going to pay more for that.

You can find quality clothes at good prices. Many of us do it all the time. As others have said, you have to know how to shop and where to look. Stores offer discounts and sales. QVC doesn't.

A lot of what QVC offers certainly isn't what I would call quality merchandise. Some of it is but some of it isn't worth what they are charging for it.

Is someone seriously trying to compare Herve Leger and Monique Lhuillier to items sold on QVC? {#emotions_dlg.blink}

But that does bring up a point. If someone is used to shopping at upscale stores and designer items, what I think is overpriced they will think is cheap. That's often why the hosts talk about how cheap something is on QVC and I think they are out of their minds. They spend $200.00+ on t-shirts so a $45.00 Isaac t-shirt is a bargain to them.

I doubt a person can find much in fashion at retail for under $30, other than for some sort of accessory.

TJ Maxx has many designer tops and bottoms at under $30. And when they have their red tag it is reduced more. The best price is the once a year yellow tag that is their final sale price and can $3 for a pair of jeans.

Some folks can't get out and/or are too busy to drive to malls, shop from store to store, etc. It's a lot easier to see items on the models and order. And the price of gasoline is sometimes the same amount (as shipping charges)(and/or probably more) because of driving around from store to store, mall to mall. Not to mention the time in trying to match/coordinate items.

I agree that if getting out is a problem then you just have to pay for the convenience.

There are a lot of fashions in retail for under $30.00, depending on what you are looking for. I swear some of the Denim & Co items are made in the same place as Kohl's Sonoma line because the items look identical and the Kohl's prices are 1/2 to 1/3 of what some D&C items are.

Some of my favorite t-shirts are the Croft & Barrow v-necks from Kohls and I pay $7.99 for them, at the most.

Bingo. I think you are correct.

Anybody ever hear of shopping online? From about a zillion sellers besides QVC? With great inventory, prices, and free/cheap shipping? And convenient delivery right to your door? I get some of my deepest price cuts and best sales online, with no "getting out" involved.

Lots of places have very nice fashion items on sale/clearance for less than $30. I find them all the time.

I started watching QVC in the early 90's when they had the Fashion Channel. I was working full time and QVC offered unique and different products at very reasonable prices. I actually saved money buying from QVC because I didn't have to use gas to trek to a mall. Not the case anymore. I haven't watched a QVC show in months and months. The clothing I see now is comparable to what I can get almost anywhere. I can go to my local Kohl's or Macy's or shop online for Lands End or at other sites. QVC was once unique and different, but not anymore. I still buy occasional items and like certain designers (Louis D.), but that's about the extent of it. I don't even see how QVC is competitive anymore with all that is available out in the stores and on other online sites. Long gone are the days when QVC was quality, value and convenience all in one.

OMG, I bought such a stash today at TJ's. Tignaanello all leather cross body. Love it! Perfect, soft, great color, lots of pockets! $39.99. Fabulous leather sandles, suede foot bed, low wedge, Lauren by R. Lauren. Love, love! $34.99

British Jeans. Loved the color, soft grey with bluish undertones. Would love to paint my bedroom this color. $19.99. Fabulous fit, just in heaven.

Jones white jeans, love it the fit! Perfect length. Love!

Max Jeans. Not really jeans. Tencel fabric, drapey like rayon. Had them in a ton of colors, bought a beige color (really cream) $!9.99! Bought them to go with a gorgeous top in a light coral with a beigey stripe in 70% Poly/Cotton. Love this top. Label, 'Splendid', made in USA.

You could never find anything like this on QVC. I love TJ and it is worth the gas money. I always hit there when I have to be in the area. I try to hit them at least once a week.

They are getting their Spring fashions in and you can't beat their prices.

......and TJ's prices are even better during their clearance events. I've snagged some great pieces for a song. They consistently have the best prices for quality handbags -- many of the same labels QVC carries, usually starting at about half the price, and sometimes marked down beyond.

Yep, I do, too. Even at Macy's on clearance. I bought a gorgeous pair of Ralph Lauren ankle boots weekend before last for $33 and change. Okay, so slightly more than $30, but still amazing compared to anything you'd find at QVC.
