shops in the 1980-90’s years?  Sold work & some dressy items.  Might have had something French in the name.  TIA!

I loved all your replies!  Labels for Less is what I was looking for, but I was confusing it with another little shop that had a French name.  Thanks for the reminders of my past!  ( I also practically lived at Altman’s!)

@Magny  It was the French Connection.  I remember going to one on the Upper Westside either on Broadway or Amsterdam.

@Magny   like other posters mentioned I also shopped in many of those stores in the city & burbs.  Cache sold more expensive "going out" looks while an Ann Taylor or even Strawberry's used to have more office appropriate clothes back then.  In the 80's I worked in a midtown office that only allowed women to wear suits!  I was very tiny then & bought my clothes in the Petite Sophisticate.

Thanks for the memories - it was an exciting time of my life!  Smiley Happy

My two favorite places to shop were Plymouth & The Petite Sophisticate. I loved their clothes for work, casual or dressy!!

Century 21 filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September, closing the huge location downtown near the WTC site.

Casual Corner was nice. Bought a couple of my first leather skirts from there.
