I want to, I have tried them on several times, different styles, different fabrics, etc. I just don't like the way they look, on me.

Yes, I do.  I have a bunch that I made (both knitted and crocheted) ... and just this morning started another.   I'm really fussy about styles and colors - making my own is the only way to go.

Tons and tons of free and not-free patterns out there.  Check out Pinterest.

PICTURES!!!

I'm quite certain I'm not the only one dying to see pictures of your handmade creations!

I saw this last night and thought it was adorable the way they had it styled with with a long sleeved sweater which I prefer to the tank. They're calling it a poncho but it's really more of a vest in my opinion.

it's sewn just under the arms but open the rest of the way. It also comes in a burnt orange ...

No.  I do not like ponchos or poncho tops.  I cannot wear a big square of material like that.

I see them on others and think they are adorable.  Last year I wore one of the Layers by Lizden Marvelush sweater ponchos while in NYC.  I was wearing it in a photo and was horrified when I saw that picture.  I looked like a tank!

I came home and donated that and other poncho with a hood and a couple poncho tops.

I love capes and ponchos.  I have many and wear them often.  Even if you don't wear them out, they are nice to throw on for extra warmth when you are sitting and watching TV.

Ponchos, ruanas, big scarves.  I wear them.  But the thing with ponchos is that you have style the entire outfit appropriately to make them work.

Bought a pretty one from Shop NBC about 14 years ago.  I like it, but don't get much of a chance to wear it.  It's either too hot or too cold for it around here.

Ages ago I got one from HSN.  It still sets in my coat closet.  I love them, don't wear them.

That's exactly what I do.  I think it's because I always carry a shoulder bag and it's almost impossible to do with a poncho.

@Trudey

If you think it's cute, wear it.

I wear them (casual wear) along with ruanas and big scarves (which I wear like a poncho), but I do have the problem (minor, for me) with my shoulder bag.

YMMV, but for me I think they can look outdated...I don't like them big/huge/voluminous, I don't like "kooky krazy" colors/patterns/prints, and I don't wear fringe, for example.   I actually wear them more in the winter (ruanas).

Here are the two I wore this summer...first one is a poncho from JJill and the second is a linen big scarf from Eileen Fisher...both very cool and comfy...
