My wardrobe is pretty balanced.  A lot of my tops can be worn all year by adding another layer like a cardigan. There are a few things I have that are season specific, but the vast majority are versatile enough to be worn all year. This one way I have pared down my wardrobe and closet.  I don't even need to switch out closets anymore.  I just put the few really out of season things in the back of the closet.
