I often belt my sweaters. I like the way a pretty belt emphasizes my waist. It also gives me a chance to wear a belt. I rarely if ever wear trousers with a tucked in blouse or sweater, where I would need a belt. Wearing a belt over a sweater just finishes the look.

Many times, I also have work ponchos belted in the front while the back of the poncho hangs loose.

And on the rare occasion that a wear a belt with anything, it's worn below my waist and almost riding on my hips.
