Re: Do you care what you wear

I wear the same thing to the gym all the time: t-shirt and WWC pants. The only thing I care about is that the t-shirt is over-sized and long ... so I buy tall men's t-shirts at LandsEnd.

Gym is just down the street - a one block walk from my apartment.

I don't go to the gym, but always like to look presentable.

Yes, because it makes me feel good. If I think I look good, I feel good. I am so bad that I even match up my running gear. It helps me to get motivated to put it on and get out the door. If I disliked what I was putting on, I wouldn't be as movitated to put it on and go.

lowest level of effort-

Pilates or hula hoop at home (could be in P.J.s)

medium level of effort-

walking outside with BF to do errands or go for a stroll (usually match but might have multiple layers of clothing so maybe some layers don't match)

highest level of effort-

yoga classes at the gym

doing cardio/weights

Yes, helps me care about working out, and sticking to it! Also, can gauge possible weight gain issues...hate scales :-)

Re: Do you care what you wear

I keep it very simple -- I'm a runner, and all of my bottoms (skorts, shorts, capris, long tights), outerwear jackets, gloves, socks, and shoes are black. I just wear a different colored shirt every day (thin cotton blend, long sleeves year round, crewneck for sun protection) and either a black or a white hat.

Re: Do you care what you wear

My neon colored sneakers drive me really wild if I catch a glimpse in the mirror even more than my baggy, comfy clothes. I just can't look down at my feet, but once I'm on the rowing machine, they're always staring back at me! Wearing anything else is not an option. But the name of the game is exercise,so fashion is secondary. Anyone else to chime in?

I don't belong to a gym, but I wouldn't be overly concerned of how I look. I would be there to exercise. I would dress for the activity. Probably would wear shorts/capris, t-shirt and sneakers.

Re: Do you care what you wear

I care to a point, but I go opposite the trend. I can't stand wearing revealing skin tight clothing when I exercise. I want to be relaxed enough to really exert myself without worry. Loose dri fit type clothing for me. Becoming impossible to find in pants so I'll have to keep wearing what I have and they are getting old and worn. Don't care.

There is an older woman who is the laughing stock of the gym for wearing skin tight to the point of stretched to see through, with fat rolls up and down the torso from every angle. Huge up top with plunging necklines so lots of cleavage. Nobody gets it. She spends a lot of time admiring herself in the mirrors while thrusting the chest for the chest machines. 73 years old. Does anybody understand this who can explain? No one in the gym gets it. She claims that since her recent weight loss, the younger men are wanting to get a good look at her. {#emotions_dlg.huh}

Re: Do you care what you wear

No. I walk around my neighborhood (3-5 mi.). I have 2 favorite cotton shorts with pockets (for my phone). They were my husbands from the 80's, think beach volleyball. I wont give those comfortable shorts up. I wear the same old visor. I have been walking for 24 yrs, everyone is use to my attire.
