I work out exclusively at home. I'm big into the Beach Body programs on DVD. When I'm doing a millions jumps and burpees all I care about is that the clothes are keeping me firmly in place and nothing is riding up/out or shifting about.
I don't look ridiculous, but the workout wear is about performance over look since nobody sees me but potentially the DH.

Not sure wanting to look pulled together at the gym equates with being vain and silly.

I don't think anyone cares. I only try to look nice at the gym because I'm single. Of course, I tend to (silently) laugh at women who are too put together at the gym.

I don't go to the gym, but I walk several nights a week on a nearby trail with my neighbor. My usual outfit consists of black cropped yoga pants and a C9 V-neck T-shirt in one of the five colors I own.
I am hardly a fashionista in this type of outfit, but I don't look sloppy, either. Just basic workout wear, and that's fine with me.

Yes, I care that I'm presentable and neat and clean, and not sloppy looking like some women in my gym look. I'm not saying that you have to be a gym fashionista like some, but come on look decent.

I wear color coordinated gym shorts and tee shirts. I always sweat like a pig so I have no plans to stop at the grocery or run errands after working out. I go straight home and shower. I do not spend big bucks on work out clothes. I guess this makes me a slob by some standards but at least I'm comfy.

Yes and no. I don't like to look awful but I don't really care. I get hot and sweaty and parts of me bounce around because I do a pretty intense interval type workout. The cool thing is that my friends at boot camp are usually the first to comment on weight loss.

When I go to the gym my priority is the workout & I wear appropriate clothes (and bra!) for that. I don't dress to look fashionable though I don't go looking like a slob either.
I really don't notice what other people wear or look like at the gym. I go for my workout. I think most people who workout seriously at gyms (or anywhere) regularly are of the same mind.

Yes, I dress appropriately. I feel better when I know I look the best I can look. I don't care if anyone else notices or not, I notice and that's what matters. It doesn't take me any longer to put on something decent than it does to throw on any old thing. I don't spend a fortune on my exercise clothes, but I do make sure they're clean and somewhat coordinated. I hate seeing people in clothes that look like they haven't been washed in a month (and they probably haven't)......
