Plaid and buffalo check are both "in" big-time this year.  Neither is very flattering in the larger woman.  Some of the plaids are in beautiful colors.

The only place I like buffalo/blanket plaids are on warm fuzzy throws.

Not really a fan of them on humans because too often someone really isn't wearing the plaid  ... the plaid is wearing them.

Well, since you seem to be a fan of Ralph Lauren @ECBG , I thought you would like knowing the terminology when it applies to clothing and fashion.

Not fond of patterns on my garments unless it's subtle.  I don't like plaid of any kind.  I'm seeing so many of those big fleece plaid shirts, I want to scream.  Hoodlums are known for wearing plaid shirts too....

I will do a small herringbone pattern and that's it.

There is a difference in buffalo check and plaid of any kind.  Plaid is made up of several colors and check is usally two colors in a specific and very symmetrical fashion whereby plaid consists of more than 2 colors.  The buffalo check she presented is red and black but the blanket plaid on the other hand, that she presented below, is a real plaid.

I love buffalo plaid, denim jackets and jeans, real worn boots and Stetson hats!  Especially if on a good lookin' cowboy!  Or even on me back in the day!
