A coworker of mine who has lots of money but little fashion sense, loves to hang on to some things from long ago. Yesterday, for instance, she wore a tan, plaid blazer that was at least to her mid-thigh and just looked awful. I'm probably not describing it properly, but there was nothing "boyfriend" style about it, it was simply outdated. I'm assuming that it was expensive when she bought it. The question I'm asking is, how do know the difference between a classic piece and something old? Usually I just go with my judgment of what looks right to me, but is there a rule to it? What constitutes a classic style?
