Re: Disappointed in pricing trends on Denim & Co

And I hate the ""french terry"" they're using. It holds stains and they won't come out even with pretreatment and sunlight.

So they reduced shipping but increased prices. Why am I not surprised.

Re: Disappointed in pricing trends on Denim & Co

1) To designate Denim & Co. as ""fashion"" is ridiculous

2) D&C used to offer cute little casual clothes at a fair price...

But now their prices are WAY out of line for the ""quality"" of their merchandise. And the inconsistent sizing...don't get me started.

And the ""quality"" of the fabrics and designs is pretty mediocre. I'm not going to (end up) paying $40+ for a t shirt that is either too flimsy or has WAY too much spandex in it (which means it'll be stretched out of shape by the time you've worn it for the first time)...or 100% cotton which is too rough for me.

And THEN the hassle of packing it up and returning it?

Forget it.

LLBean and Land's End have much better quality clothing (in both the design and execution) which they sell at a fair price with mostly FREE shipping.

So why would I or anyone else buy D&C?

I agree just saw a new pair of crop pants that are over $40-- why pay that when you can pay a little more for Linea or IM....

Someone was looking for crop jeans? They have 6 pages of pants on sale at Neimans, from 25 to 75 dollars. Here is a pair of NYDJ for 34 dollars. Pays to shop around. I like the fact I get the quality, not the price.

Re: Disappointed in pricing trends on Denim & Co

I have purchased a lot of D&C in the past and have purchased several items (pants, shirts, the new active line) and had to return them all. I'm having a terrible time with sizing. I'm still ordering the same size, that hasn't changed, but one shirt will be way too big and another shirt will be too tight. I don't get it. I agree the prices go up and I know prices go up on just about everything, it just makes me pick and choose more carefully. I look more for the easy pay, buy more/save, etc. I certainly won't be buying as much as I used to because of the prices. I really needed a nice, every day jacket. Nothing too heavy. Just not liking anything D&C (or QVC in general) and then I got an LL BEAN catalog in the mail. I got a barn jacket for $89 with free shipping. It's exactly what I was looking for and the quality is excellent. I recently received another LL Bean catalog and found many of their items appealing (IMO). Prices on most items are not so bad and in some cases beat QVC/D&C and all with free shipping. I think I may order from them a little more than QVC. Like I said, I haven't had much luck with sizing.

It's not just D&C. The Q has pretty much priced me out of their market on clothing. By the time I add $10 for S/H & sales tax the price has run up to $50-$60 per item for things I wouldn't give a second glance in B&M over the price of $20 or $30, $40 tops.

Nailed it.

Re: Disappointed in pricing trends on Denim & Co

They order thousands of pieces from the manufacturer so they supposedly have a relationship etc...and they don't have to pay for stores and a lot of employees and insurance etc. etc. So why are prices so high for a simple t shirt. I like Denim & Co and like online shopping but it is getting ridiculous.

I agree......just this morning i saw the SG Liq Knit jacket and tank that has been there for a year or two...i had ordered it a while back......check the price i paid...and the asking price now is $4.00 more..........they have increased most of the lines of clothing. I DO understand charging more because of the styles of today....longer tunics, asymmetrical hems, etc. require more material which in turn will end up costing more..........but i myself don't purchase these styles and the clothes i have ordered in the recent past that i think about reordering again in another color, etc. most have increased prices.
