I was very sad when my kids got to big to wear white hi top baby shoes.
Isn't it funny how you have to be "of a certain age" to know about shoe rubbers? A whole new meaning.

Yes, and I still have a pair of saddle shoes that I wear a lot and love! Different company of course!

Dear shoesnbags:
Oh, that brings back memories. I had a 4A toe and a 5A heel. And I wore the MaryJanes for dress, but had ugly gray tie oxfords for the private girls academy catholic school. Had to go to a special shoe store in Jersey City to get the narrow width.
I remember finally getting a black "kitten heel" black shoe for holiday dress up in sixth grade--probably for Christmas. And some kind of "thigh high" stockings. I was in sky heaven.
Housecat . . . I think you are the one that started this nostalgia thread. Thanks for this one and many others.

Sure did. My sister and I got a new pair every year. White or black with the single buckle. Times were so simple then. Great memories.
