I am sure Gary and Susan are involved in the design of the garments, at a minimum signing off, or providing general direction, slecting materials, etc., but I believe a lot of the "designing" is done at the manufacturing level where what is financially feasible, and the availability and performance of materials is determined. So these design teams are in Indonesia, Vietnam and wherever else our garments are manufactiued. I think some customers would be surprised and have interesting reactions if they realized this. So too risky for QVC.
As I am thinking about where clothing is manufactured, I just had an epiphany that maybe Louis Dell'Olio's manufacturer, who was retiring around the time he was, may have been China based, where almost everything used to be made. With the increase in tariffs for Chinese products, the location of garment manufacturing has changed. Maybe that had something to do with LDO's departure. Starting with a new manufacturer is a major endeavor.
